The Successful Interview
Before you go:
- Research the company. Visit the company's website. Know their history and growth.
- Re-read the job description so you can fit your background to their needs.
- Rehearse sample interview questions.
- Prepare questions to ask each interviewer that focus on responsibility issues. Don't get bogged down on the "What's in it for me?" questions.

Presenting Yourself:
- Arrive 15 minutes early.
- Dress in business attire. The less jewelry the better.
- Bring extra copies of your resume and references.
- Be personable as well as professional. Everyone you meet is evaluating you.
- Know your resume. Be prepared to answer questions about your first job as if it were your current position.
- All questions are asked for a good reason so answer accordingly.
- If necessary, ask for clarification before answering a question. Be honest and formulate your answers before you speak.
Closing:
- Be sure the interviewer has heard your interest in this position.
- Ask if there are any concerns about your ability to do the job. If so, address those concerns.
- As soon as you have finished the interview contact your recruiter. Your immediate feedback is critical at this juncture.
- Be sure to send a "thank you" for the opportunity to interview with each person you met.
